On this Day 6th Aug 2019, We have seen an outstanding performance from Deepak Chahar which also gives him player of the match award. It was the 3rd T20 played on Providence Stadium, Guyana.
On batting first West indies scored 146/6 in 20 overs. Chahar took 3 wickets within first 4 overs in the play. Taking 4-1 (Narine, 1.5), 13-2 (Lewis, 3.1), 14-3 (Hetmyer, 3.5) fall of wickets. Saini also took 2 wickets and Rahul Chahar taking 1. Pollard scored fifty having 58 runs in 45 balls and Rovman powell scored quickfire 32 in 20 balls .
In reply , India comfortably wins the game with two fifty from Kohli (59 runs from 45 balls ) and pant(65 runs from 42 balls). India scored 150-3 in 19.1 overs.
Chahar praises his performance for the pitch and atmosphere , saying “The atmosphere was pretty good, I tried to swing the ball as the weather was conducive for doing so, also tried to bowl around the full length area because of the moisture. The wicket was good and so was the weather. I assessed the conditions and I bowled more in-swingers than out-swingers. It was difficult to play against the ball coming into the batsman as compared to the one going away. I usually bowl with old balls in nets, that’s how I prepare myself. When the ball is swinging, I don’t use many variations. I was assessing the conditions on the first ball of every over.”
Krunal pandya got the man of the series award and Deepak chahar got man of the match award.
